Gretsch 1961 Single Anniversary Model 6124
-
Features
All the way back in 1961 Gretsch was already celebrating anniversaries and this model was meant to commemorate such an occasion! Originally this model 6124 came with the Gretsch HiLo ‘Tron pickup in the neck and a trapeze tailpiece but the original owner wanted more functionality! The Gretsch pickup has been moved to the bridge and a replacement 70’s pickup from Japan was moved into the neck, with a cosmetically matched mounting ring, AND a Bigsby was installed and then modified with an aftermarket extended arm, allowing for easier use while playing (original arm in case!) Our in-house luthier had to bring the electronics in this guitar back from the dead and he did so fabulously, wiring in a brand new 500K volume pot a brand new 3-position switch. Good to go! If you’ve ever wanted a 60s archtop that didn’t require a second mortgage, this is the guitar for you! W/ HSC
