Rufus Guitar Shop is known throughout the province as a destination for top-notch repair work. Our skilled technicians have a wealth of experience with acoustic and electric instrument repairs, modifications and restorations. We work on acoustic guitars, electric guitars, basses, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles and other stringed instruments. Rufus Guitar Shop is also the warranty service centre for Martin Guitars. We always offer free estimates so drop in anytime to visit our technicians – no appointment is required.

Alma St

Misha Udovenko
Misha graduated with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Odessa State Technological Institute in 1984 and received his Bachelor of Music Arts degree in Wind Orchestra conducting at Abakan State Music College in Siberia in 1988. Misha specializes in vintage instrument restorations and handcrafted repairs. He has been with us for 16 years and is also one of the city’s top piano tuning and restoration technicians.

Al Smith
We are pleased to now offer amplifier and pedal repairs and mods at our Alma St location! Whether your dusty old amp needs a refresh, your pedal only works half the time or you have some mods in mind, Al is the man!

Meredith Coloma
Born in Vancouver, Meredith grew up in Canada, Chile and Taiwan. She attended the Lee Strasbourg Institute in New York City. As a teenager, she apprenticed under professional luthiers, including Roger Sadowsky. She has earned recognition for entering the male-dominated field of guitar-making as a young woman.She is known for her handcrafted gypsy jazz guitars, mandolins, violins, ukuleles, acoustic guitars and electric guitars.

Meaulnes Laberge
Meaulnes brings a wealth of experience to the Rufus team. He has worked for both Fender and Guild guitar companies designing guitars and builds his own line of ML electric bass guitars. Meaulnes can get your ailing guitar back in shape or hot rod it for more performance!
